A recent survey conducted by the Iowa Department of Employment Services for Clayton County shows fifty one percent of all percent of all persons included in the survey had worked for their current or most recent employer for more than five years. Eighty one percent of those surveyed in Clayton County are ready to learn new skills and forty six percent are willing to share in training costs. Single Factor Corporate Income Tax Iowa is the only state with a single factor corporate income tax - meaning only the profits from products sold for delivery in the state are taxed. Industrial Training The Iowa Jobs Training Program provides on the Job training and any other services that may be necessary to train employees. GRAND TOTAL: $765.00 Extended, passed & adopted Jan. 2, 2001 Homestead Exemption New residents may file for homestead exemption at the County Assessor's office, located at 111 High NE St., Elkader; phone 245-2533. To qualify for homestead exemption, which will reduce your property taxes, the residence must be owned and occupied by you, an Iowa resident. There is no charge for homestead exemption. To qualify for a full-year of homestead credit, you must file an application with the Assessor's office between January 1st and July 1st in any given year. You may, however, file an application at any time after July 1st, but will not receive a full-year's credit until the following year. |
