• Garbage service is provided by the City of Monona and is collected once a week. West of Main Street is on Monday, East of Main Street is on Thursday.
• Curbside recycling is provided by Waste Management, Prairie du Chien, WI. Recycling pickup is every Monday.
• There is a flat garbage rate (which is billed once per month along with the monthly water and sewer) that includes the monthly recycling fee. There maybe an additional charge for some larger items. Contact City Hall for additional information.
• Since the landfill does not take yard waste, Monona has a site near the entrance to the Waste Water Treatment Plant for leaves, garden waste and other materials for composting. There is a brush dump for branches, limbs and twigs. The brush dump is located approximately 1 mile north of Monona. Contact City Hall for directions to these sites and for further information.
